The Top 5 Reasons I Use Twitter

Twitter

In case you didn’t know, twitter is a popular social media tool that lets you connect with people.

twitter-screenshot

I stumbled upon twitter when it was getting more and more popular. I became very curious and created an account. At first, I did not know how to start off and just followed a few people.

When I began using twitter more, I built more and more relationships on twitter. Soon, I began using twitter a lot. It brought good traffic to my blog. (At one point, twitter brought more than 100 visitors to my blog).

Back to where we were – here’s the main 5 reasons I use twitter.

1. Network

Twitter is a great way to build relationships and connect with people. I’ve made many friends from all over the world through using twitter to converse with them.

I also earned a lot of loyal readers and subscribers.

2. Driving traffic

Twitter is also a good way to drive traffic. As I mentioned earlier, twitter brought more than 100 visitors to my blog at one point (I tracked it using http://tr.im). That’s because many people retweeted it.

A retweet is a tweet that is being retweeted again, giving credit to the original person who wrote the tweet.

3. Share

When I stumble upon a interesting site, I’d say to myself, “Wow! I must tweet this!”

I want to provide value to my followers. So, if I come across an interesting/helpful article or site, I would surely tweet it for my followers.

And if they think it is interesting, they might probably retweet me, sharing the interesting article to a larger audience.

4. It’s useful

Most of the great sites I found (that I’ve bookmarked on my browser) are discovered from twitter. The people I follow sometimes send out great tweets that has a link in them. I discover great sites from clicking them.

I can also do a research using twitter by asking a question. My followers would answer my question.

5. It’s fun

Guess what? Twitter is also fun! It is fun to interact with people and share cool links. It is also fun to visit interesting sites that the people I follow are sharing.

If you are not using twitter yet and would like to create an account, click here to do so. Trust me – twitter is gonna be interesting :) .

Lastly, if you use twitter, don’t forget to follow me! I’m @Gloson.

Happy tweeting!

Tips to Make Fun Photos of Your Pets

Miscellaneous

orange-garfieldIf you have been surfing my blog for a while, you probably saw my funny cats series. Those series are nice and fun to see. (Please don’t get distracted by the photo on the right, but he really looks like Garfield)

In this post, you are going to learn how to make creative and funny photos out of your pets, if you have one. Creative and funny photos of animals are fun to look at, especially kitties and doggies. And here’s how to make them.

Seize your opportunity

Occasionally, the scene may be unusual, fun, or funny. For example, the cat sleeping on your piano, in the cupboard, or even watching television… Don’t expect it to last forever! Grab your camera and snap it before the opportunity slips away! If you snapped a nice shot of it, you’re lucky.

Just snap it!

If you happen to see your pets playing, licking each other, chasing a string, just snap as frequently as you can. You will never know what photos you might get. Once, my cats were licking each other. I decided to take some photos. I snapped as frequent as I can. And here’s what I got.

lovelyorange Tips to Make Fun Photos of Your Pets
Orange: No one disturbs the almighty lion!
Lovely: Awww…Orange is stroking my face.
Lovely: I think I’ll lick him for that.
Orange: Oooh! Take it easy! Take it easy! I surrender!

Creative Captions

If you are creative, the captions you make would be more fun, funnier, or simply better. Which caption is better for the photo above?:

1. Lovely: Orange scratched my face! Time for revenge!

2. Orange: No one disturbs the almighty lion!
Lovely: Awww…Orange is stroking my face.
Lovely: I think I’ll lick him for that.
Orange: Oooh! Take it easy! Take it easy! I surrender!

The first caption is good, but the second one is better. But… what is it makes the second one better? The first caption is common. The second one is ‘out of the box’, which means it is not what you expect to be.

Creative captions also make ‘boring’ photos better. For example, these photos may not seem so special, without captions. So, I added some captions…and did a little ‘flipping’ with the photos.

Blackie: Now, I’m Superman! Ouch! Don’t put your butt in my way, Snowy!

CIMG0549
Blackie: Or is it better to be Spiderman?

Now, the photo is right side up. This, too, doesn’t look too fun. But the fun caption made it better.

Doesn’t the creative captions make the photos more interesting? That’s the power of creativity!

Angle Matters

With your creativity, you could take a better picture even by changing the angle from where you snap. For example, you could snap a photo of your cat from the ground level, as if it were taken by an ant.

See eye to eye

If you are going to snap a photo of your pet, it is best if your pet faces the camera. Why? It is because the viewer would feel like the pets are interacting with them, which makes it more interesting.

Anyway, time for the next poll:

He Drew Me and I Drew Him

Personal

I had asked one of my twitter friends, @Artmaker, to draw a picture of me, and he agreed. Artmaker (AKA I-Ming) is a cartoonist who is the author of the web comic strip, Fantasy Story.

A few weeks later. he emailed me his picture of me, with his signature attached.

I think it is nice, so, I decided to draw him a picture ofPICT1073 him in return.

I drew it with Microsoft Paint as it is not too troublesome because of scanning. I have a touch screen monitor, which makes it easier to draw him at certain points, like the hair and signature. I also used some of the features in Microsoft Paint to help with the drawing, such as the bending lines.

An Animal Video Clip I Made

Uncategorized

I made this video clip months ago…but forgot to share it (silly me). It consists of pictures of animals – insects birds, mammals, fishes, and loads more! The pictures act to the music.

Where did I get the pictures? From the Internet, of course, which I collected when I was 8. I have over 700 pictures of living things (mostly animals) in my collection…and they are currently in my computer. Some are corrupted, though.

This clip is made using Showbiz using Arcsoft. What encouraged me to do this is the lost of my (maybe even better) old clip of animals that I made when I was only 3 – 6 (I can’t remember). I was good at computer at my young age. I did not know of the Internet when I was young…good thing too (or not I would be addicted to online games like my brother).

That’s enough talking…time for watching – Grab your popcorn and drinks; it’s gonna start!

Update: YouTube cut off the ending of my video! Dang! In the end, there is a sleeping kangaroo with a sound of snoring.

Haha…sort of funny, right? It has not so good quality because it’s format is WMV; because WMV takes up less space. If I saved it in the AVI format, it would take up over 200MB! Wow! If anyone know a format that takes up lesser space and have good quality than WMV, comment it!

So comes the end of this little article…hope you enjoyed the clip; it took me more than a week!
