How To Blog Without a Computer

Have you ever thought of blogging without a computer? Well, whenever we write a post, we usually write using computer. But when you are on vacation, or waiting for someone, in a bus/train station, or anywhere without a computer, it doesn’t mean that you can’t blog.

Instead of letting time fly, why not blog?

All you need is a pen/pencil and some paper, or a notebook (not the notebook computer :P ).

In this post, I will share with you some tips on blogging without a computer.

Write points first

Firstly, write all the points of your post, not details. Write the points first. Points are more important than details. Only then you write the details.

For example,

Paper A
___________________

   Point A

   Point B

   Point C

   Point D

Paper B
___________________

   Point A
   …………………..
   …………………..
   …………………..
   Point B
   …………………..
   …………………..
   …………………..

If you have something extra to say in the middle of a sentence, don’t erase it and write it all over again with the extra text! Make a mark like * and write the extra thing to say somewhere else, with that mark. This saves time.

Example:

Paper A
___________________

   Point A
   …………………..
   ……… * …………..
   …………………..
   Point B
   …………………..
   …………………..
   …………………..

Paper B
___________________

  *………………….
   ………………….
   ………………….

Write in shortcuts

You could also write in shortcut, like:

You – write – long story – make – exciting – readers – not sleep.

Simply write all the important and necessary words, make a dash, and move on. When you’ve got access to your computer, you can type in the complete version.

You could also write long stories, but make it exciting so that your readers wouldn’t sleep.

This could save you a lot of space and time.

Write fast

Remember, you can write in whatever way you want, as long as you can understand it. You don’t need to care auobt simpel mispelings. After all, you would need to type the words in the computer later. That’s only where you have to care auobt mispellings. *about misspellings.

About grammar, make changes by simply crossing a word and adding another word on top. Do not erase it and rewrite. It wastes time.

You don’t have to write in a proper way, making sure every letter is beautiful. This is not school. This is just temporary writing.

Oh dear, the curve in the ‘D’ is too big? Never mind. As I already told you, you can write in whatever way you want, as long as you can understand.

Why should you write fast? Simple. It saves time.

Conclusion

Writing articles takes time. When you are outdoors, without a computer, if you blog while you are waiting for something, you save time.

Sometimes, when there are no lessons at school, I write articles. It simply saves me a lot of time sitting there dreaming.

This is also handy if you are out on a vacation without a computer.

Oh, and remember that you can write in whatever way you want, as long as you can understand it.

Practical tips! I agree with Sundareswaran! Now there are several sites that allow you to set up blogs and “blog” from your iPhone. Posterous.com allows ppl to blog directly from email clients too.

The kid is right. Everyone who suggest iPhone or other devices miss the point. How can you write faster pressing little buttons? Devices are distracting, screens too small and you cannot make unique markups like underline some important thoughts. That’s why some great book writers never switched to computers.

I agree with Gloson and Mankosas. During my vacation or official trip, a simple pen and note book always with me. No matter how high-end the technology is, always better than a cellphone.

Great tips Gloson, the flowing thoughts of a writer can never be suppressed. I’ve come across writers so passionate about writing that all they do is try to scribble down whatever comes to their mind. The passion to write and something to write on are what a writer really needs.
